The book PET SOUNDS edited by Alberto Vieceli \u2013 author of\u00a0\u201cHolding the Camera<\/a>\u201d, \u201cAnimal Greetings from\u00a0the UK<\/a>\u201d, \u201cOk Ok, twin postcards<\/a>\u201d, \u201cSaluti dal\u00a0Mare, 212 postcards<\/a>\u201d and co author of \u201cThe\u00a0End of Books<\/a>\u201d, \u201c336 books and 336 pages<\/a>\u201d and\u00a0\u201cMoney<\/a>\u201d \u2013 was shortlisted in this year's Arles books Awards in the historical book category. The volume showcases 320 record covers that have one thing in common: they depict musicians and animals. Of course there are reoccuring themes and situations: animals sitting or laying on the piano next to the artist, artists riding horses or holding their dear pets close to their chests, pet portraits and close-ups, and artists casually leaning back sharing the frame with a majestic dog or cat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After we were able to browse through the book in Arles we reached out to the Alberto Vieceli who was kind enough to share his collection with us, so here is our subjective selection of 20 record covers \u2013 mostly with artists having a close encounter with their pets or exotic animals:<\/p>\n\n\n
