However, since this category did not exist, we now get to know an artist with a unique vision through his recently discovered body of work, capturing the life of urban people far beyond the contemporary Hungarian photographic understanding.\" <\/em><br>\/Zsolt Petr\u00e1nyi\/<br><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Guests:<br>Szabolcs Barakonyi, photo editor of the book<br>S\u00e1ndor Kereki, photographer\/cameraman<br>Zsolt Petr\u00e1nyi, author of the essay published in the book<br>Gy\u00f6rgy Stalter, photographer<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Moderator:<br>Kl\u00e1ra Szarka, photo historian<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While S\u00e1ndor Kereki began taking pictures in the late sixties, he discontinued his practice in the early 1980s. His photographic collection, spanning just a few years, was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kerekisandor.hu\/introduction\">initially unveiled on Fortepan online many years later<\/a>, in 2021. Despite his youthful start and early cessation, Kereki's life's work stands as a significant accomplishment in the annals of Hungarian photography, deserving a revered place in the medium's artistic canon. The exhibition on view in Capa Center, along with the inaugural book of Kereki's photographs edited by curator Szabolcs Barakonyi and designed by Ferenc Eln, featuring a foreword by art historian Zsolt Petr\u00e1nyi, marks the commencement of this canonization effort of an unsung hero of Hungarian photography.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The book can be purchased during the entire duration of the exhibition at the cash desk of the Capa Center, price: HUF 12,900.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event will be held in Hungarian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The exhibition is realised in cooperation between the Eidolon Center for Everyday Photography and the Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Center.
